Halliwell Engineering Associates, Inc. (HEA) founded in 1954 as a design and consulting engineering firm, with the sole objective of providing independent and expert advice to building owners, institutions and government agencies.

We are a consultant to the National Multi-Family Housing Council (NMHC) on matters of water intrusion and mitigation, as well as, the insurance industry’s Property Loss Research Bureau (PLRB) and have been and continue to be asked to develop and make presentations on the prevention, control and management of water loss issues (before, during, and after construction).

We are experts in diagnosing and solving complex engineering and architectural problems with mechanical, electrical, architectural, and environmental systems within buildings and their operating infrastructures. We have developed technologies and diagnostic methods for solving design, construction and environmental problems throughout our 50-plus years of engineering practice.

Structural Engineers

  • Requirements: experience in performing structural failure analysis on commercial and residential properties, forensic engineering and/or cause and origin analysis. BS degree and PE registration. Approximately 40% travel. Several positions available at all levels and all locations.

Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Requirements: experience in the design, installation and operation of building power distribution systems ranging from low voltage branch circuit distribution systems through medium voltage utility services and distribution systems. Must also have experience in Life Safety systems (egress and exit lighting and fire alarm systems), Emergency Power systems and Communications systems. BSEE degree. PE registration. Approximately 40% travel.

Architect / Building Envelope Professional

  • Requirements: Experience in building envelope consulting, performing investigations, evaluations, and the design of repairs and rehabilitation of exterior walls, roofing and windows. BS degree in architecture or engineering. Architect or Engineer registration. Approximately 40% travel.

Senior Mechanical Engineer

  • Requirements: Experience in the design, diagnostics, and investigations of HVAC systems. Must also have experience in detailed construction oversight and start-up troubleshooting. Experience with functional performance testing, full commissioning, IAQ issues, and/or forensic engineering is a plus. BSME degree. PE registration. Approximately 40% travel.
